Fluoride is a mineral, naturally present in many foods and available as a dietary supplement. It inhibits or reverses the initiation and progression of dental caries and stimulates new bone formation.
That’s why children between 9 and 13 years should take 2 mg of fluoride daily, in order to have healthy bones and teeth.
Most of the fluoride that people consume comes from fluoridated water, foods and beverages prepared with fluoridated water, and toothpaste and other dental products containing fluoride.
Talk with your dentist about the estimated amount of fluorid your children should take, and the posibility of using a supplement.
